You know how they say “It’s not about the destination. It’s about the journey.” In this Spiti valley bike trip from Chandigarh/ Delhi, it is both about the destination and also about the journey. This is an 8-day biking trip to and around one of India’s most unexplored destinations - Spiti valley, also known as the ‘middle land’, (land between India & Tibet). The bike trip to Spiti valley will initiate with the urban backdrop of the bustling city of Chandigarh, slowly gliding into the marvels of the Hindustan - Tibet road, and eventually veering into the untamed Spiti valley, isolated and scattered with the world’s highest inhabited villages & beautiful monasteries. This is a challenging yet scenic road adventure with rugged terrain meant for passionate bike riders looking for offbeat Himalayan bike routes & destinations.
If you're wondering about how to reach Spiti valley, there are two routes to enter Spiti and travelers opt for one of these two routes: one is Manali to Spiti Valley (Chandigarh - Manali - Rohtang Pass - Kunzum Pass - Losar - Kaza) & the other is Shimla to Spiti Valley (Chandigarh - Shimla - Narkanda - Kinnaur Valley - Tabo - Kaza). On our journey, we will enter the valley via Shimla and exit the valley via Manali, finishing a complete circuit. This way, our Spiti valley bike trip will cover all the major tourist destinations of the entire circuit of Shimla - Kinnaur - Spiti - Manali including Tabo, Kaza, Dhankar, Losar, Key, Pin valley, Langza, Chandratal, Kunzum Pass, Rohtang Pass and so on.
Our Spiti valley bike trip is designed to bring you the best road experience to Spiti, along with an opportunity to participate in one of the highest Indian marathons organized in the village of Kaza at 12,000 ft above sea level. What makes this marathon a one of a kind run are the never heard before high altitudes it’s organized at and the spectacular views of Spiti valley and mountains falling on both the sides of the run route. After the run, you can relax and enjoy The Spiti Carnival, a 3-day celebration where the local tribes come and exhibit their culture, art forms, cuisine, and music.
As you may have known by now, this bike ride is not like the much familiar Ladakh bike trip or any other Himalayan motorcycle tour. Our Spiti valley bike trip covers roads and culture like no other biking experience. This will be a tale of a few passionate bikers riding along the Himalayan terrain, exploring a destination through its roads, adventure, spirituality, culture, music, and art.
