The initial weeks of November have seen some major adventure festivals being held in India. Two of these were held in the North East of India, so it’s a breath of fresh air, that apart from the popular adventure destinations, North East is getting a taste of it too. North-East is not very famous when it comes to adventure tourism. These festivals are helping in the promotion of adventure tourism there. The surfing festival of India called The India Surf Festival was held in Odisha which is another good addition as Odisha is coming up as a adventure hub when it comes to Surfing. Here are the highlights of the festivals so far.
India Surf Festival 2016, Odisha
The 5th edition of the India Surf Festival from 12th-14th of November, ended on a good note. With many people now getting exposed to the sport of Surfing, this festival is a giant leap. This Along with surfing activities at the Ramchandi Beach, there were skateboarding events, music performances and so on. This Adventure Festival also involved other activities like Zorbing etc. Here are the highlights of the festival:

Mechuka Festival 2016, Arunachal Pradesh
The theme for this year at the ‘Land of medicinal ice water’ was based on four elements of the universe — water, air, earth and fire. It was held from 7th of November to 9th of November.
- Mechuka, an eye pleasing town in the West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh saw hundreds of people participating in the Mechuka Adventure Festival.

- Performances by Rituraj Mohanty, Adnan Sami and many more
- A spike in the amount of foreign tourists and also locals.
Bilgaro Challenge 2016, Meghalaya
The Bilgaro Challenge 2016 saw a host of motor racing enthusiasts. The festivals was from November 4th to November 6th and aims at promoting motor sports in the North East. It was held in Tura. Here’s the highlights
